PAPERGAMES / HELP & SUPPORT

A little clarity.

01 / YOUR PLACE IN THE PLAYGROUND

Account & Sign-In

How do I sign in?

Open Sign In and use your email address to request a code. Enter the code from the email on the same screen. Google sign-in is also shown when available.

If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder and the address you entered. Use the most recent code you requested. If the problem continues, email support from your account address and describe the error.

Can I change my profile name?

In My Profile, select Edit profile. Display names are unique, ignoring letter case and extra spaces. You can change your name once every 30 days; your XP and badges stay with the account.

Are social accounts required?

Social connections are optional for using your Paper profile. Some badges and referral conditions require a connected X account. Available providers are shown in Connected accounts.

Disconnecting an identity does not delete your Paper account. Connection badges and reviewed follow or share badges become inactive and their XP is removed from the active total. Reconnecting the eligible identity restores the eligible rewards without awarding extra XP. First Edition stays earned.

02 / YOUR PAPER TRAIL

XP & Badges

What can I earn each day and week?

Each quest pays once per period. Exploring a profile means spending at least 5 seconds on it.

Daily quests
Leave your daily markCheck in to keep your paper trail going.+5 XP
A little curiosityExplore 3 different projects today, spending at least 5 seconds on each profile.+3 XP
Back a good ideaGive one project an upvote.+2 XP
A full page, well played.Complete all three daily quests.+5 XP
Weekly adventures
Widen your horizonsExplore 3 different projects this week.+15 XP
Make it a habitCheck in on 5 days this week.+20 XP
Community signalCast 5 upvotes this week. Voting for the same project on different days counts.+15 XP

The daily exploration quest needs three different projects. Weekly Community signal counts five upvotes, including votes for the same project on different days. Withdrawing and reapplying a vote on the same project on the same day does not add progress.

When do daily and weekly periods reset?

Daily periods reset at 02:00 CET (01:00 UTC). CET is a fixed winter offset: during summer, this is 03:00 in Paris. Weekly periods start on Monday at the same reset time.

Your daily voting allowance becomes available again. Project upvote totals, earned XP and badge history are kept. Missing a daily check-in resets your current streak, while your personal best and earned milestones remain.

Why is my reward missing or my total different?

Your first published review on each project earns 10 XP once. Editing that review does not award more XP or add another lifetime review. Favorites do not earn XP.

Pending social checks and unqualified referrals do not award their bonuses. Inactive connected-account badges can change your active XP total. Open your badge details and the full XP guide to see the conditions.

If an action met the conditions and still has no reward after refreshing your profile, email the team with your display name, the project or badge, and the approximate date and time.

03 / A USEFUL COMMUNITY SIGNAL

Votes & Reviews

How many projects can I upvote?

You can choose up to three different projects per account per day, once per project that day. Use the heart on an Explore card or beside Activity on a project page.

You can vote for the same project again on a later day. The displayed project total accumulates votes from all users across days. Removing a vote lets you vote for that chosen project again, but does not unlock a fourth project that day.

What makes a useful review?

Describe what you tried, what worked and what could improve. If your opinion is based on a demo, research or first impressions, say so. Disclose any relationship with the project. Short reviews are allowed; copied, misleading or abusive contributions are not.

Read the Community Guidelines ↗

How can I report a review or question a moderation decision?

Use Report review on another member’s review, choose a reason and add relevant context. A report should explain a possible rule violation, rather than disagreement with an opinion.

The team can hide or restore a review with a recorded reason. Hidden reviews leave the public list and rating totals; their historical XP and achievements remain. Editing a hidden review does not restore its visibility.

To ask for another look, email admin@papergames.xyz with your display name, the project URL and an explanation.

04 / GOOD PLAYERS BRING GOOD PLAYERS

X & Referrals

How do I get the Paper Follower badge?
  1. Connect your X account in Connected accounts.
  2. Follow @papergames_xyz ↗ on X yourself.
  3. Return to Connected accounts and request the Paper Follower check.

The team checks the public evidence manually. Connecting X alone does not follow the account or verify the follow. The badge awards 15 XP after approval; a pending request earns none. Check its status in your profile.

For Paper Spreader, submit a public X post from the same connected account for editorial review. Papergames does not post or follow on your behalf.

When do referral bonuses arrive?

Apply your referrer’s code in Referrals before completing the participation tasks. The referrer can be set once and cannot be changed. After the referred member meets all six conditions, both members receive 50 XP each once.

  • Connect your X account
  • Follow @papergames_xyz · verified Paper Follower
  • Check in on 2 consecutive days
  • Explore 3 different projects · 5 seconds each
  • Upvote 3 different projects
  • Publish a project review

X must be connected and the follow approved through Paper Follower. The other activities must take place after the code is applied. A pending invitation does not count as a confirmed referral. Your referrer can see your display name and qualification progress.

Paper Guide adds one-time milestone bonuses: 1 confirmed: Common +25 XP · 5 confirmed: Rare +50 XP · 10 confirmed: Epic +75 XP · 20+ confirmed: Legendary +100 XP.

Can I personalise my referral link?

Yes. In Referrals, enable Use my profile name for my referral link. If needed, a suffix makes the link unique.

A later profile-name change updates your personalised link. Your original referral code and previously shared links keep working. The same 30-day profile-name limit applies.

05 / THE NEXT GOOD IDEA

Project Submissions

Which projects can be listed?

We cover games, identifiable prototypes and playful experiences with a documented connection to Papertrade. An original public source must support the admission claims. A planned integration is not a working integration; In Play groups Live, Early Access and Playtest; On Paper groups Announced, Prototype and Inactive. Editorial illustrations stay in the administration only.

Read the Listing Policy for the scope, evidence, project stages and editorial review criteria.

How do I propose a project?

Sign in and choose I discovered a project for a third-party discovery, or I am the creator to present your own project. Creator submissions earn no discovery XP or Paper Scout badge. Add its name, category, descriptions, connection to Papertrade and at least one public website, X profile or source. Website fields accept www.example.com; X profile fields accept @handle.

Your proposal receives a reference and status under My Discoveries or My Creator Projects in Submission History. Earlier unclassified proposals have a separate To Clarify tab. Sending it earns no XP. Only a third-party discovery earns 50 XP at its first official publication, credited to its first eligible proposer; duplicate and existing projects do not qualify. Choose whether to share a short card in Paper Scouts. The full proposal and messages stay private. You can send up to three new proposals per hour.

How can I correct an existing profile?

Use Suggest a Correction on the profile. Choose the field, describe the error and suggested correction, and add a public source or explain how to check a typo or broken link. The team reviews it before changing the profile.

My Corrections and My Profile → Messages show your private receipt and replies. Corrections do not create a new game and earn no XP or badge. Applied means a matching correction was published, not just saved in draft.

Where can I read and reply to the team?

Open My Profile → Messages or My submissions, then open the proposal’s conversation. The exchange is private between you and the editorial team.

An unread counter and a highlighted notice show when the team replies. Opening the list leaves messages unread; opening the conversation marks them read. Notifications are shown on the site. No notification email is sent.

These conversations concern project submissions. For general account help, use the support email below.

06 / YOUR ACCOUNT, YOUR CHOICES

Privacy & Contact

How do I request account deletion?

Email admin@papergames.xyz from the email address used for your Paper account. Include your public display name and say that you want your Papergames account deleted.

The team handles requests manually after verifying account ownership. Sending an email starts the request; it does not immediately delete your account. Signing out or disconnecting X does not close it.

See the Privacy Policy for how records and requests are handled. To disconnect a social provider, use Connected accounts and revoke its permission in the provider’s settings.

Request Account Deletion ↗

Opens your email app. You review and send the message yourself.

What should I include in a support request?

Email admin@papergames.xyz with your public display name, the page URL, what you expected, what happened and the approximate time. A screenshot of the error can help; remove private information first.

For an existing proposal, use its conversation and include its reference. Never send a password, sign-in code, seed phrase or private key.

Who runs Papergames?

Papergames is an independent directory of games and experiments around Papertrade. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Papertrade. The site’s contact address is admin@papergames.xyz.

Published project profiles include sources and distinguish concepts from playable projects. External projects have their own rules and services. Read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
